Visiting Teachers
Bodhi Path centers were founded by Shamarpa, the 14th Shamar Rinpoche, and are guided by resident and visiting teachers of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Bodhi Path offers a mix of lay and monastic teachers from around the world, including Asia, Europe, and North America.
Trungram Gyalwa Rinpoche
Recognized by the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa when he was a toddler, Trungram Gyalwa Rinpoche earned his traditional acharya degree with first class honors and received many transmissions and teachings from great spiritual masters. In addition, in 2004 Rinpoche became the first incarnate lama to receive a PhD, graduating from Harvard University.
Beru Kyentse Rinpoche
Beru Kyentse Rinpoche was recognized by HH, the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa as the emanation of the great 19th century master Jamyang Kyentse Wangpo. Considered as an emanation of Manjushri, Rinpoche is the holder of a vast number of transmissions.
Shangpa Rinpoche
The 2nd Shangpa Rinpoche became a monastic after enthronement by His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje. At 11, he was ordained in Pokhara, Nepal, by His Holiness. Among many responsibilities, and as requested by His Holiness Shamar Rinpoche, he became the spiritual teacher of the Karma Kagyud Buddhist Centre in Singapore.
Dongsang Shabdrung Rinpoche
The 4th Dongsang Shabdrung Rinpoche, known for his extensive knowledge, was recognized as an emanation of Sangye Yeshe (832 – 902), one of the 25 heart disciples of Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche).
Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche
Maniwa Sherab Gyaltsen: “Maniwa” is a title given to masters of the Chenrezi practice who have accomplished at least a billion Om Mani Peme Hung mantras. Rinpoche was ordained in Rumtek by the 16th Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje. An exceptionally gifted student, Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche mastered all aspects of traditional Buddhist study.
Je Karma Trinleypa Rinpoche
Je Karma Trinleypa is a tulku of the Karma Kagyu lineages. The 1st of the line was one of the greatest masters in 15th-16th century Tibet. He was a disciple of the 7th Gyalwa Karmapa and a teacher of the 8th Karmapa Mikyö Dorje. Also, he has played an important role in the Sakya tradition.
Sabchu Rinpoche
Sabchu Rinpoché was born in Nepal. The late 14th Shamar Rinpoché formally recognized him as the 5th incarnation of Sabchu Rinpoché during the transmission of the Tersar empowerments given at Nagi Gompa by the late Tulku Urgyen Rinpoché.
Lama Nygyam
Lama Nygyam was born in Kham, Tibet. After numerous years in retreat and living in Shamar Rinpoche’s Swayambhu monastery in Nepal, and additional retreat time, he holds the main responsibility as retreat master of the retreat centers in Shar Minub and in Pharping.
Lama Jampa Thaye
Lama Jampa Thaye is a scholar and meditation master, educated in the Sakya as well as in the Karma Kagyu tradition. He was appointed a Lama by his two main teachers Karma Thinley Rinpoche and HH Sakya Trizin and has been teaching since 1988.
Lama Walli
Lama Walli practiced in retreat for 16 years, 15 of them under the guidance of the meditation master Gendun Rinpoche. In 1986 Rinpoche appointed her as a Lama and she has been teaching the Dharma ever since in a variety of capacities.
