From our earliest years we are taught to use ambition as a means to help us attain results. Unfortunately, in the spiritual life we quickly discover that ambition can become a hindrance rather than a help on the path. How can we find a new approach that will allow us to easily and joyfully make progress on the path? And how can we develop a motivation that does not reinforce ego-clinging?

This teaching, based on pithy and practical instructions from Gendun Rinpoche, is particularly relevant to Western students of meditation and spirituality as it’s something we often find ourselves struggling with, no matter where we are on the path.
