Hybrid Retreat With Khenpo Tsering — “Ganges Mahamudra” by the mahasiddha Tilopa

This retreat is designed for both beginners and advanced practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding and practice of Mahamudra.

It will be a special retreat focused on teaching and meditating on the “Ganges Mahamudra” by the mahasiddha Tilopa, an Indian yogi and tantric master who lived around the 10th century. The text offers profound teachings on the nature of the mind and spiritual realization.

“Mahamudra” translates to “great seal” or “great symbol” and refers to the ultimate nature of reality and the mind.

Tilopa’s teachings, including the “Ganges Mahamudra” poem, have had a profound impact on the development of Tibetan Buddhism, especially in the Kagyu tradition. His focus on meditation and direct realization of the mind’s nature continues to inspire practitioners and spiritual teachers worldwide.

We have divided the course into two parts, with one session each weekend and in different on-site locations in Colombia.

This format allows Khenpo Tsering to provide more extensive and detailed explanations of the text. You will have the opportunity to attend both weekends, receiving a total of 24 hours of instruction.

The virtual sessions will begin on Saturday, August 31st, at 6:00 AM CT, with the Sojong vows ceremony broadcast from the retreat center in Tabio. This will be followed by the explanation of the “Ganges Mahamudra” text from 9:00 AM CT until 6:40 PM CT. The Sunday, September 1st schedule will be the same as Saturday.

We will not be holding the Sojong vows the following weekend, so the broadcast from Medellín city will run from 9:00 AM CT to 6:40 PM CT on Saturday, September 7th, and Sunday, September 8th.
