We are excited that Je Karma Trinleypa will come toRenchen-Ulm again after more than 10 years, to provide his teachings. The theme of his course will be Buddhist Ethic and meditation and will hence provide basic as well as profound information about connecting and incorporating buddhist ethical values and meditation in one’s life.
Je Karma Trinley Rinpoche is a highly respected reincarnate (Tulku) in the Karma Kagyu lineage. The 1st Je Karma Trinleypa was one of the greatest Tibetan masters in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, a student of the 7th Gyalwa Karmapa, and a primary teacher to the 8th Karmapa, Mikyö Dorje. The current 4th Je Karma Trinley Rinpoche, born in Nepal, was recognized by H.H. the 14th Shamar Rinpoche as the reincarnation of the above mentioned master at age four, being enthroned in Bodhgaya during the 2010 Kagyu Monlam, attended by H.H. the 17th Karmapa and H.H. the 14th Shamarpa.
Rinpoche has dedicated many years to the study and practice of Buddhist philosophy. His journey began with nine years of intensive study at Sakya College, the Institute of Higher Buddhist Studies in India, from which he graduated in 2016. To gain broader academic perspectives, he pursued a master’s degree in world philosophy at Birkbeck University in London and a master’s in Buddhist studies from SOAS University of London. Currently, he is furthering his expertise through an MPhil program in Tibetology at Hamburg University.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Rinpoche has received significant spiritual empowerments, including the Kagyu Ngagzod from H.H. Shamar Rinpoche, the Lamdre empowerment from H.H. the 42nd Sakya Trizin, and the Gyachen Kazod from H.E. Lama Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche. These teachings have profoundly enriched both his scholarly knowledge and spiritual insight, making him a well-rounded and insightful teacher.
