Bodhi Path Teachers
Julia Tenzin
Julia Tenzin combines traditional Tibetan and western academic approaches to Buddhism. She began at age 21 as a disciple of the late master Gendun Rinpoche, doing three consecutive three-year retreats at his monastic hermitage, Dhagpo Kundrol Ling. She then taught for several years at various Buddhist centers in Europe and the United States, where she joined the Bodhi Path Pasadena Center and assisted Dharma Teacher Khaydroup. After completing an M.A. program in Buddhist Studies at the University of the West in California, she spent four years in India and Nepal, translating at the International Buddhist Academy in Kathmandu and visiting many Buddhist holy sites. She completed her PhD at McGill University with her dissertation on Buddhist and secular forms of compassion training.
