We are excited to welcome Tsering Ngodup to Bodhi Path Martha’s Vineyard for a weekend teaching series, Chenrezig: A Practice of Awareness, Wisdom and Compassion, Saturday and Sunday November 15 and 16, 10 am- noon both days. Teachings will be available in person at Bodhi Path Martha’s Vineyard, 21 Laurand Drive and online via Zoom.
Since 1983 Tsering Ngodup Yodsampa, under the spiritual direction of his root teacher the late 14th Kunzig Shamarpa, has devoted his life to sharing the Dharma in the world. Tsering is a long time Bodhi Path teacher and translator, and has served as a Buddhist chaplain at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
“As one of the Buddha Shakyamuni’s eight close disciples, Chenrezig—Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit—was present when the Buddha gave teachings on the Bodhisattvayana.
Chenrezig is a tenth bhumi bodhisattva: one whose realization is so luminous and complete that he is endowed with all of the qualities of a Buddha and could be considered fully enlightened. His vow is to remain in samsara until all beings have been freed from the agony and confusion of cyclic existence. Because he manifests as a perfectly realized bodhisattva, his activity is to use every possible means to lead beings to liberation in whichever form is most expedient.”
