New Center Schedule Offers More for Newcomers and Advanced Students Alike

Shamar Rinpoche to Kick Off our New Weekly Public Talks

This weekend, the center's membership approved a new regular schedule for our group. To inaugurate the change, Shamar Rinpoche will give three weeks of public talks each Sunday in June.

The highlights of the new schedule include:

  • Our Sunday program will start 1/2 hour earlier to allow us to add an hour at 11 am for a regular public talk. Shamar Rinpoche will present the first three of these talks during the month of June.
  • We will re-instate monthly mini-retreats allowing for a day of intensive practice on the first Saturday of each month. The first mini-retreat will be held Saturday, July 3 from 9 am to 4 pm. Watch for details later in the month.
  • We will plan two new programs, one for beginners, and another for advanced students. The beginner program will be an introduction to Buddhism. The advanced program will be an expanded version of our philosophy discussion group held on Thursday nights. Look for more information in the summer.

The purpose of this schedule change is to make our program more attractive for newcomers while strengthening our offerings for experienced practitioners. We hope you will find something of interest in our new schedule and we look forward to seeing you at the center.
