For details on annoucements and events, Tilogaard is a Bodhi Path center, affiliated with His Holiness Shamar Rinpoche. Lama Tendar Olaf Hoeyer is the resident Lama at Tilogaard. A student of Shamarpa since 1981, he accomplished the 3 year meditational retreat under the guidance of Gendun Rinpoche from 1991 to 1994. He has been a student of many other Lamas since 1977 and formerly the director of the Karmapa center in Copenhagen from 1985 to 1989. He has been teaching the Dharma since then. He was ordained as monk in 1984, but gave back the vows in the year 2000. He now drives the local bus as a source of income, training and social engagement. Tilogaard means "Tilopa's Farm." Tilo is Tilopa in another rendering. Tilogaard came into beeing in May 2002, and students come here for personal instruction in the classical view and practice of the Dharma, particularly in the disciplines of Ngoendro, Lhojung and Shiné-lhagthong. A special group perform the ritual of Karma Pakshi from time to time. Lama Tendar also conducts seminars on meditation at various places in Denmark at different occasions. Tilogaard is too small at present for any larger group of people. It has only 2 guest rooms. The plan is to build a large guesthouse for 12 people, 4 retreathouses, a reasonably sized meditation hall, 2 stupas, and to buy more land. This plan is under development, a budget will appear later, and a presentation. Then a fundraising effort will take place. Situated in a remote corner of Denmark on the island of Lolland, surrounded by peacefull farmlands, forrests and with a view of the coastline in the distance, Tilogaard posses the tranquil and serene qualities that are conductive to meditation, study and retreat. The aim is to develop the possibility for these 3 endavours on this spot for dedicated practitioners of the Dharma and to provide a meetingplace for people, who are blessed with qualities, that relate to the Buddhist traditions and disciplines. In Denmark, such a place is traditionally called a refugium, a place of refuge. |
