Lobpon Ngawang Gelek. Lobpon Ngawang Gelek was born in in Nepal in 1964 to a familiy of lineage leaders of Vajrayana Buddhism. At twelve, he moved to Katmandu to be educated in the classic ritual tradition of Buddhism at Tsechen Shedrub Ling Monastery. In 1981, he began advanced Buddhist studies at the Shri Karma Nalanda Institute at Rumtek in Sikkim. He graduated in 1990 with a master in Acharya degree. After graduation, Lobpon Ngawang became a teacher at the Shri Karma Nalanda Institute and also taught at the Karmapa International Budhist Institute in New Delhi..
