Lama Khedrub. A nun since 1996, Anila Khedrub has been studying and practicing Buddhism for over 20 years. Under the highly respected meditation master Lama Guendun Rinpoche, Lama Khedrub completed two three-year retreats at Dhagpo Kundreul Ling in central France.

Since completing her second retreat
in 1997, Khedrub has been teaching in centers, schools and organizations throughout Europe and the US. In 2000, Shamar Rinpoche appointed her to serve as the resident Lama of the BodhiPath Buddhist Center in Santa Barbara. Currently, Lama Khedrub is helping to establish new BodhiPath Centers in Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo.

Khedrub met her first teacher, the
Venerable Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1981, when she moved to Boulder to join the Windhorse project, a team approach to accompanying persons in psychological crises. Windhorse was developed by her husband, psychiatrist Ed Podvoll, a founding member of the Contemplative Psychotherapy program at The Naropa Institute.

Previously, Khedrub was a primary school teacher for 15 years, owning and directing her own school for five years where the study and application of pedagogy was emphasized. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Lama Khedrub is also a mother and
grandmother.
