Jigme Rinpoche, born in Eastern Tibet, grew up and was educated amongst many of the prominent teachers in the Kagyu lineage. In 1974, during his first visit to Europe, H. H. the 16th Karmapa designated Dhagpo Kagyu Ling in Dordogne, France to be the central seat of his European activity, headed by Jigme Rinpoche as his representative. In making this appointment, H. H. said, "In the person of Jigme Rinpoche I give you my heart." It is in this spirit that Jigme Rinpoche today continues his activity in Europe and in the U.S., traveling extensively, visiting and teaching in the centers and inspiring all who come in contact with him.
