35 Buddhas Practice: An Overview

The 35 Buddhas practice is one of the main preliminary practices within the Bodhi Path curriculum and is a basis for advanced progress on the Bodhisattva path. It is often stated, 'more profound than the actual practice are the prliminary practices'. This is because by accomplishing the preliminaries one is able to attain to the higher levels without effort.

Lama Tsony will provide an overview of the 35 Buddhas Sutra as well as the opening and concluding prayers which make up the complete practice. He will also answer any questions and provide key advice on how to best fit the practice into our daily schedules. Copies of the texts will be provided.
Suggested donations are $50/day or $100/weekend.

Buddhism in Action

The Six Perfections (or Paramitas in Sanskrit) are Generosity, Ethics, Patience, Joyful Perseverance, Meditation, & Wisdom and comprise the fundamental practices of Buddhism. Once we understand and aspire to the goal of enlightenment, and develop the motivation to help our fellow beings, we then learn to develop these qualities to progress along the spiritual path.

These teachings—while embodying the path to enlightenment—are at the same time of a general nature and can apply to anyone interested in spiritual practice, regardless of level of experience or commitment. And for those interested, this is a perfect opportunity to learn more about the Buddhist path and how to ground those teachings in our day-to-day interactions with others.
Suggested donations are $25/evening.
