Regular Schedule

3 times per month (full moon, new moon, and Tara Day) the Upasika or Upasaka vows will be given for a length of one-day.

These vows are given as a means to reinforce the virtue which arises through the mindfulness in one’s conduct, and is therefore very precious for the practitioner. The vows are also an expression of training in renouncing cyclic existence - which is the indispensable basis for a profound development towards liberation and Buddha hood, the enlightened state.

The way of life based on the Upasaka- or Upasika-vows is the basis for the Buddhist path. (This explanation has been taken from an exerpt of a teaching by Khenpo CHodrag Tenpal Rinpoche)

Vows will be given on the following dates at 6:30 am:
July 14, 22, 30
Aug.12, 21, 28
Sept. 11, 19, 26
Oct.   11, 19, 26
Nov.  9, 12, 24
Dec. 9, 12
