Lama Yeshe Palmo- Mariangela Celeste
(Resident Lama of Bodhi Path Center in Athens-Greece)
Lama Mariangela is of Italian-Greek origin, born in Italy, and raised in Germany she periodically lived in several other countries as well but mostly in Greece.
She is a musician-composer and singer and speaks fluently five languages. In 1981 she entered the Buddhist path and then practiced and studied near some of the most important teachers of the Karma Kagyu tradition.
In the year 1986-1990 she successfully completed the traditional three year retreat as a nun under the guidance of Ven. Lama Gendun Rinpoche after which she also completed several shorter retreats to conclude further practices.
She is a lay teacher and mother of a son. Following her teacher’s advice she has been teaching the Dharma unceasingly since then, mainly in Greece.
Her ever deeply felt spiritual bond with H.H. the Shamarpa moved her to wishing that the activity of this center may be guided according to Shamar Rinpoche’s vision of the international Bodhi Path Centers.
